એક પંખી આવી

એક પંખી આવી ને ઊડી ગયું, એક વાત સરસ સમજાવી ગયું. એક પંખી... આ દુનિયા એક પંખી મેળો કાયમ ક્યાં રહેવાનું છે, ખાલી હાથે આવ્યા એવા ખાલી હાથે જવાનું છે, જેને તે તારૂં માન્યું તે તો અહીંનું અહીં સહુ રહી ગયું. એક પંખી... જીવન પ્રભાતે જન્મ ધર્યો ને સાંજ પડે ને ઊડી ગયું, સગા સંબંધીની માયા છોડી સઘળું મૂકી અળગું થયું, એકલવાયું આતમ પંખી સાથે ના કંઈ લઈ ગયું. એક પંખી... પાંખોવાળું પંખી ઊંચે ઊડી રહ્યું આકાશે, ભાન ભૂલી ભટકે ભવરણમાં માયા મૃગજળની આશે, જગતની આંખો જોતી રહીને, પાંખ વિના એ ઊડી ગયું એક પંખી... ધર્મ પુણ્યની લક્ષ્મીગાંઠે સત્કર્મોનો સથવારો, ભવસાગર તરવાને માટે અન્ય નથી કોઈ આરો, જાતા જાતા પંખી જીવનનો સાચો મર્મ બતાવી ગયું. એક પંખી...

Ek Pankhi Avi

ek pankhi āvi ne ūḍi gayu, ek vāt saras samajāvi gayu. ek pankhi... ā duniyā ek pankhī meļo kāyam kyān rahevānu chhe, khālī hāthe āvyā evā khālī hāthe javānu chhe, jene ten tārā mānyu te to ahīnu ahi sahu rahi gayu. ek pankhi... ūḍi gayu, jīvan prabhāte janm dharyo ne sānj pade ne sagā sambandhini māyā chhoḍī saghaļu mūki aļagu thayu, ekalavāyu ātam pankhi sāthe nā kain lai gayu. ek pankhi... pānkhovāļu pankhi ūnche ūḍī rahyū ākāshe, bhan bhūlī bhaṭake bhavaraṇamā māyā mṛgajalani ashe, jagatani ankho joti rahīne, pānkh vinā e ūḍī gayu. ek pankhi... dharma punyani lakśmigānṭhe satkarmono sathavāro, bhavasāgar taravāne māțe anya nathi koi āro, jātā jātā pankhi jīvanano sācho marm batāvi gayu. ek pankhi...

The poet is comparing our body with a bird. A bird sits on a branch of a tree and then flies away within few minutes. Similarly person's life is like that bird, which flies away in very short time at the time of his death. This gives us a message that our worldly relations, material possessions are all temporary and we will all have to leave empty handed just as we were born.
